PROGRAM - RIO NEGRO EXPEDITIONS 04DAYS/03NIGTHS

The first day starts at 8 a.m." Transfer in to Ceasa Port" with an early visit to a small market. Discovering the many exotic kind of fruits and the fresh fish from the Amazon. Afterwards, a speedboat will take you to the famous place where the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimões merge into the Amazon River "Meeting of the Waters" and the colors of the rivers mix in an impressive way. From here, you will continue the boat trip until reaching one of the so-called floating villages. Gain insight into how people along the Amazon River live their daily life on the floating houses. Then, you will go back to Manaus to the "Ceasa Port", and driving by car to "Rio Negro Bridge" that crosses the Rio Negro in about 15 minutes and takes you to the other side. From here, you have a great view of the Rio Negro, the mainly tributary of Amazon River; you will drive about 30 minutes by car, followed by a short boat ride across the "Ubim" river, to reach the one simple and familiar Lodge. The lodge offers simple accommodation with "open air" showers and hammocks in the middle of the Amazon. After having lunch around noon, you will go deeper into the magical world of the Amazon River Forests, the "Igapós", with canoes. Here you will navigate through the small tributaries of the Rio Negro, the so-called "igarapés" that wind for miles through the jungle.

 

Back in your accommodation, you can think of all the new things you saw during the day while having dinner. Spend the night in your bed or if you like, in the hammock.

At 07:00 - Breakfast - After having breakfast, the day will start at 8:30 a.m. with a hike through the jungle. An experienced guide from the "Acajatuba community" will lead you through the deep green vegetation and you will learn about the unique flora and fauna. This includes many medicinal plants that is not only use by the locals. You will have lunch in the local family - (base) today.  Afterwards you can refresh yourself in the Rio Negro and relax in this unique atmosphere. The afternoon will be very exciting: You will get close to the most famous of all Amazonian fish during the piranha fishing. The boat will then continue heading into the sunset. On the beach of the Rio Negro River, you will have dinner before going to the night's lodging - a jungle camp.

At 07:00 - Breakfast - 08:30 you will visit a village of the "Ribeirinhos", local       people of the Amazon region. There you will have lunch and get the chance to gain further insights into the culture and living conditions of the local people.  In the afternoon, you will drive to "Anavilhanas Archipe" - the largest river water archipelago in the world. Here we will stop at "Praia Grande", a white sandy beach where you can dream and swim. In the evening, you will return to the Simple lodge, where you will have dinner.

At 07:00 - Breakfast - you will have a little tour in a nearby village.

Here you will visit the church and the local school.  Before going back to Manaus, the last highlight of the tour will take place: You will swim with the "Botos", the famous pink river dolphins, and get to know these fascinating, up to 3 meter large animals.You will have lunch while driving back to Manaus, where you will arrive at 17:00 and return to your hotel or the airport.
